Ocean City, MD
The city’s Planning and Zoning Commission’s proposed amendments to short-term rental regulations in R-1 and MH districts could introduce new occupancy limits based on bedrooms and impose minimum stay durations.
After concerns raised by landlords who worry the new rules could lower revenue, the P&Z Commission will host a public hearing on November 19 to gather input before moving forward.

```Palm Springs, CA
The Palm Springs Administrative Appeals Board is exploring updates to its short-term rental ordinance to improve awareness and compliance among real estate agents and property buyers. After identifying gaps in information dissemination, the board is considering new strategies, including making it mandatory for escrow/title companies to disclose rental restrictions and permit requirements at closing, requiring property managers to register with the city, and launching a public awareness campaign using ads and seminars.
These preliminary recommendations will be reviewed with Mayor Jeffrey Bernstein before submission to the city council, with additional discussions planned for the board’s next meeting on November 13.
```Spring Lake, MI
The Village of Spring Lake is considering potential policy changes on short-term rentals following resident concerns raised at Monday’s council meeting.
```The discussion focused on the village’s Short-Term Rental Overlay Zone, “which limits rentals based on geography rather than zoning or placing a maximum cap for a certain number of properties to be approved for rental.” In particular, related to Monarch, Dixie, and Rex street neighborhoods which were designated as part of the zone.
