Wake County Requests Public Input on Proposed Amendments to Short-Term Rental Regulations
The Wake County Board of Commissioners is inviting public feedback on a proposed change to short-term rental regulations. The amendment would eliminate the current requirement that property owners must also be residents of their short-term rental properties. This issue will be addressed at the Board's upcoming meeting.
According to an official announcement from Wake County, individuals can sign up to speak at the meeting between 9 a.m. and noon on the day of the event. Those unable to attend in person may submit feedback online.

Currently, Wake County's short-term rental policy mandates that property owners live in the homes they rent out temporarily. The proposed amendment would allow non-resident owners to participate in the market. Wake County Commissioner Vickie Adamson emphasized the importance of public input, stating:
"It’s important that we hear from the homeowners across the county who will be affected by this amendment," as mentioned in the county’s announcement.
